Sweetbriar Farms was developed by Mountain Creek Land Company, and consists of a North section featuring the common area park along Cedar Creek, and a larger South section. This gated community is located four miles east-northeast of Lake Lure, NC ('as the crow flies'), with driving distances closer to eight and a half miles from the lake and necessities. First responders are only about one mile away.

Available residential lots measure between one and nearly three acres. The community offers home sites with mountain views, water frontage, wooded privacy, and a rural flavor. Homes are on individual wells & septic systems and there's no requirement to maintain unimproved lots.

Light restrictions include no mobile homes and a 1,200 sq. ft. minimum home size when you're ready to build. Annual dues of $550 maintain the paved roads and common areas., There are no club houses, tennis courts, pools, etc. in this community, but the common area Sweetbriar Park along beautiful Cedar Creek is available to residents and their guests.

Located on the eastern slopes of the Blue Ridge mountains, Sweetbriar Farm is accessed five miles up a secondary road from US Hwy 64/74A, giving easy access to the east-west highway. The community enjoys a quiet, rural location.
